Ein dickes Hallo in die Provinz!
Once again it has been long since I updated you guys. Life is keeping me quite busy and I have lots to tell you!
Let’s start with the biggest news. I got a job in Manhattan. A “real” job! J Sven referred me to his company, a Germerican accounting office. This Monday I had my first day over there. The office is on 42nd Street and 2nd Avenue – right next to the UN. From my desk I look right at the Chrysler Building. Well, first I look at my coworker, Jens, and behind him I can look out the window at Chrysler and Grand Central Station. *lol* Not to make you jealous or so…
Obviously, I had to quit my job at Whole Foods. They declared a three day mourning close in memory of me. *hahaha* No seriously, they gonna miss me and imma miss that place as well. Especially the interaction and conversation with so many different people each day. They offered me to keep working every other weekend, but common let’s face it, I’m not gonna ruin my weekends now that I don’t need to any more. And if I have too much spare time I already came up with tons of things to do – friends, movies, beach, Six Flags, city, party, shopping, cruising, sleeping in. And if worst comes to worst, I could study for the CPA or maybe just sit on my balcony and tan my feet. *lol* So from now on, I will enjoy the incredible service of WFM as a customer. I will let them pack my grocery bags. I will complain about the prices. I will return 90% eaten food, claim that it was not eatable and request a full refund. And I will not finish my shopping until 10:30 even though the store closes at 10pm. Oh it’s gonna be so much fun!!
The other big time consumer besides work is the CPA. I’m still going to class (seems like I have been going there for years now). Now I sit in the last section of all four – Business. I just took my third exam (Regulation) in the beginning of March. Now I have to wait for the result to come. Talking about results. You guys must have not been crossing all your fingers very well while I took my first exam… I failed the Financial part big time! At least I passed Audit with an outstanding percentage. Just too bad that I can’t throw both results together and then split it by two… So I have to retake FAR probably sometime in May. I will take my time and do it all relaxed. All of you better make sure to send good thoughts and luck to me this time, I don’t wanna fail again.
This past weekend the East coast of the US was hit by a very big storm. We had wind up to 150km/h, very heavy rain and the whole pipapo. Almost everybody went out of power at some point coz in this wonderful country, which is convinced to be one of the most advanced, the electricity lines are still overground. *muhahaha* I didn’t suffer from the outage at all, because in the evening I went to a dinner party in New York and when I came back at 3.30 in the morning I really didn’t care much about light, hot water or internet. And when I got up in the morning I had everything I needed just as usual. But somehow there are still many people living like in a cave and might not get power back until the end of the week! That’s super advanced, don’t you think. *lol* When I take my hot shower in the morning I think a little bit about how nasty it must be to wake up in a cold apartment, almost freezing to the toilet and after that having to take a ice cold shower in a pitch-dark bathroom. But that thought is flushed down with my hot tea and my morning hot cereal. *hehehe*
Well, I think that's about all news for now. Today is the first day of a great summer... 25 degrees Celsius and already AC on everywhere. But spring is here, baby!!
Hope to hear from you soon and if not I will come and kick your ass in summer, when I visit the country with the autobahn!!
Love you lots, Vicky
